Introduction
Another fan-favorite classic character finally makes his debut in the G.I. Joe Classified Series Lifeline Action Figure line—and it’s always a good day when we get another medic added to the roster.
Lifeline has long been a standout in the G.I. Joe universe, and this release brings him into the modern Classified lineup with a faithful design, a strong accessory loadout, and just a few minor quirks holding him back from greatness.
Accessories
One of Lifeline’s biggest strengths is easily his loadout. Hasbro clearly leaned into his role as a combat medic, and it shows.
Included in the package:
- Glock-style pistol
- Modern folding knife
- Flashlight
- IV bag
- Oxygen mask and tank
- Detailed medical case (with internal tools like shears)
- Backpack and multiple pouches
- Removable glasses and alternate goggles
The medical case is a standout piece—it opens up to reveal a surprisingly detailed interior. It’s one of those accessories that really elevates the figure on display. That said, getting everything to fit neatly inside (especially the oxygen tank) can be a bit of a challenge.
If there’s one drawback here, it’s the paint. The accessories could definitely benefit from a few extra paint apps to really make them pop. Still, if the trade-off is keeping this figure out of deluxe pricing territory, it’s an easy compromise to accept.
Figure Design & Sculpt
Overall, this is a very faithful update of Lifeline’s original design.
The figure features:
- A clean, modernized medic uniform
- Nicely sculpted pouches and tactical details
- Subtle but effective paintwork on the collar and zipper areas
- Elbow and knee pads that enhance the tactical look
There are a few minor issues, though.
The helmet looks a bit odd when worn—it doesn’t sit quite as naturally as it should. The head sculpt is also slightly underwhelming. It’s not bad by any means, but it does come across a little flat compared to some of the stronger portraits in the Classified line.
One nice touch is the removable glasses with translucent lenses, along with alternate goggles for different display options.
And in a nod to the original figure (not the cartoon version), Lifeline is armed. Unlike his pacifist animated counterpart, this version includes a pistol—staying true to his original toy roots.
Articulation & Poseability
As expected with the Classified Series, Lifeline delivers where it counts in articulation.
You’re getting:
- Double-jointed pinless elbows and knees
- Butterfly shoulder joints
- Drop-down hips
- Ab crunch with a ratcheted system
- Bicep swivel and full range of motion throughout
This allows for a wide range of poses, from action stances to more grounded, support-role displays. Whether you’re posing him mid-battle or tending to a fallen teammate, he holds up well.
Final Thoughts
Lifeline is a strong addition to the G.I. Joe Classified Series and a welcome one for longtime fans.
The loadout is excellent, the design is faithful, and the articulation is exactly what you’d expect from the line. While the head sculpt and helmet aren’t perfect, they’re minor issues in the grand scheme of things.
At the end of the day, this is a solid figure that does justice to the character—and it’s great to finally have him in the collection.
